BRANDING

BROWSE BY PROJECT:

  • Kylie Breen Photography

Initially launched as a passion project to share my images, Kylie Breen Photography became a successful side hustle that required branding from scratch.

  • The Falmouth Dog Park

After working with the Falmouth Dog Park for the last four years, I have aided in their brand strategy and identity through design and social media management.

  • Fearless Angel Boutique

After an owner of a boutique based in Norwell, MA connected with me, she expressed her struggles with brand identity as she did not come from a business background. Although still a work in progress, we completed an initial branding consultation.

ABOUT KYLIE BREEN PHOTOGRAPHY

Kylie Breen Photography is a photography business that I started in 2019 after taking my friends’ high school senior photos. I have always been passionate about photography and been practicing for over a decade, but within the last few years I have decided to focus and grow this skillset, thus starting my own business where I specialize in outdoor portraiture.

This passion project turned side hustle allowed me to advance my branding and design skills. Between creating a color scheme, to logos, to marketing materials, and then deciding on a consistent style and brand voice, this business has introduced me into the complex world of brand identity and strategy. See the above slides for examples of this work.

ABOUT FALMOUTH dog parks inc.

The Falmouth Dog Park was created to provide a welcoming, safe and environmentally - sensitive dog park for use by residents, visitors, and their pets. The Dog Park is handicap-accessible, open from dawn to dusk, and is free of charge.

While working as a Media Associate Intern with the Falmouth Dog Park, I completely rebranded the organization and created a logo for their tenth anniversary. The logo was printed on various merchandising and magnets, and directly raised money for the nonprofit. In addition to designing a logo, I worked with President of the park, Barb Schneider, on a website redesign (see right) and variety of marketing materials for the park. Barb exclaims her impressions of my work with the dog park below.

“Over the past two years, I have had the pleasure of watching Kylie Breen grow from a student to a professional. Her internship with the Falmouth Dog Park quickly developed into a much longer relationship, but so did my ability to see other ways to help Kylie develop more skills in her design/marketing and communication techniques.

When Kylie began her internship, I was clear that we would treat this as we would a client/business partnership. We heaped jobs on her that involved creating logos, figuring out how to improve social media offerings, redesigning our newsletter, even incorporating skills in t-shirt design. We were able to help her learn how designs often need to be altered to fit the way a printer or clothing maker can handle the design. We linked her up with a person who designs many of the logos and t-shirts and hats for businesses all over this area of the Cape. She helped Kylie understand silk screen and its limitations and helped her redesign a logo to make it possible to silk screen in four colors. Kylie was not only a fast learner; she loved improving her skills and took great pride when a magnet or a hat or a t-shirt arrived with her own design on it.

As time went on, and the internship came to a conclusion, we asked Kylie to stay on as a member of the Board of Trustees – the youngest member and one of the most important. She has continued to hone her skills in not only producing excellent designs for social media and print media, but she has done it under extreme time restraints and from great distances. At times, I believe she already exhibits the talents needed to run her own successful business. Between her graphic art and photography skills, her writing ability, and her knowledge of social media, she is a force that can conquer almost any challenge in today’s marketing and communication world.

I can’t say enough about her cool, collected demeanor, and patience while working with us just as she would a client. No deadline, no challenge has thrown her. Kylie exhibits a rare ability to get over any hurdle, and tackle any challenge. I truly worry about how we will manage without her only a request away. She is not only good, no, excellent at what she does, but she is pleasant, calming and successful. It has been our pleasure to have been part of Kylie’s professional development. She gets it and she will go on to make all of us proud for sure. She already has.

ABOUT Fearless angel Boutique

Fearless Angel boutique is a boutique based in Norwell, MA that has the mission of empowering women through classy clothes, all under $100. While the mission of this boutique may resonate with a wide audience of women, myself included, after speaking with the owner we both agreed that this mission was not portrayed clearly on any branded platform. The boutique already had a logo as well as primary fonts and a direction for the brand, but my goal is to assist the owner in expanding upon and applying these guidelines across all branded identities.

After walking the owner through a consultation to investigate current brand guidelines and difficulties, we agreed that the Fearless Angel social platforms and websites required a major upgrade. I am currently in the process of assisting the owner with designing a website, starting a blog for strong women to share their stories to become fearless, creating a consistent style guide for photography shared to social media, and developing marketing materials. As seen in the slideshow above, I have created secondary logos for her social media platforms or to be used as stickers, expanded the color palette, mocked-up an Instagram page pulling from her content and influences from other boutiques that maintains a certain color scheme, and interviewed the owner to establish the next steps.
